Wonder Woman #1 was portrayed by Lynda Carter in the iconic Wonder Woman TV show. The series ran for three seasons between 1975 and 1979 and made an over night sensation - and pop culture icon - out of Carter.
WHAT WAS GOOD ABOUT WONDER WOMAN #1?
Can you not see her? She's gorgeous!
Young, beautiful, strong and determined, Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman was - and still is - the definitive female superhero. Whilst Batman and Superman have successfully managed to leap from comics to movie screens and back to comics again, Wondy has always found it difficult to run with the big boys. Wonder Woman's comic-book history is littered with reboots, restarts and revisions and her silver screen career is littered with countless failed attempts to get a big screen adventure going.
However, Wonder Woman remains one of the most recognisable superheroines on the planet and this is all because of Lynda Carter.
No one else could have played Wonder Woman quite like Carter and nothing, not the star spangled pants, the show's cheesey theme tune nor the limitations of a TV budget, could take that away.
LYNDA CARTER IS WONDER WOMAN!
And she always will be.
Wonder Woman #2 was played by Adrianne Palicki in the 2011 TV pilot Wonder Woman. The actress only portrayed the character for a single episode as the series was never picked up by a TV network.
