COMIC-BOOK CREDENTIALS: First appeared in Marvel’s Spectacular Spider-man comics in 1984 and has cropped up in comics numerous times since, but not always as an adversary of Spidey. COMIC-BOOK WEAKNESSES: The Spot has never ranked as one of Spidey’s chief villains… and he also looks a bit like an extra from the film 101 Dalmations.
Access to dimensional travel (well sort of), has a PHD, looks good in spotted Spandex.
REASON FOR RECRUITMENT: Using dimensional warps (or black portals) the Spot can open gateways to the ‘spot’ dimension; a sort of hidden dimension not visible to the human eye, which gives him unlimited travelling capabilities across the planet. The warps are small (or large) spots that can be opened anywhere, shrunk or expanded to any size and can be used to transport him or anything he wants from one location to another. This would allow the Spot to hop around the Marvel Universe recruiting candidates for the team. Now, hypothetically speaking, if the Spot can open up portals to a dimension that exists outside of the Marvel reality, it’s entirely feasible that his spots could grant him the ability to access the DC Universe and any other universe he wants to get to. This would allow the Spot to recruit team mates from every comic-book reality!
If left unchecked the Spot’s tech could rip open a huge hole in the fabric of reality, potentially pulling the Marvel Universe (and any other universe) in on itself. This could spell the end of everything. Oh shit.
CHANCES OF SURVIVAL: The Spot has a very good chance of survival! In fact he’s cheated death on more than one occasion and using his spots as an escape root he could remove himself from danger without much effort.
IN EVENT OF DEATH BEFORE MISSION... LIKELIHOOD OF REPLACEMENT WITH DEADPOOL: No chance. The Spot is the ideal candidate for recruitment due to his unique abilities. Back off Deadpool, you’re not making it onto the team just yet!
