Is the season 4 storyline involving the Kryptonian stones in there?
But check out what is!
During its 10-year run Smallville 'borrowed' a number of ideas from other successful TV shows and movies (Saw, Matrix, The Hangover), but none were quite as bad as when the show attempted to tap into the popularity of hit show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The episode involved Lana Lang (yawn) becoming a (sort of) vampire in possibly the stupidest episode of Smallville ever. Despite a few nods to Buffy & Co, to try and smooth things over, the episode sucked. No pun intended.
Smallville goes supernatural once more in another Lana-centric episode. This time around the dullest character
in Smallville's history (yes that even includes Pete) becomes possessed by a witch and calamity follows. The stuff of magic it certainly wasn't and was instead another filler episode that attempted to make Lana seem interesting. She wasn't.
Oh dear, yet another story involving Lana (are you spotting a pattern?). This time around Clark's high school sweetheart and his former best friend got married, in one of the least interesting storylines of them all. The story dragged on and even involved a pregnancy (remember any of this?). Yet more proof that the show was treading water during its sixth season.
Every main character on Smallville (give or take) discovered Clark's secret at some point during the run of the show. Sadly in terms of the ongoing story that kind of knowledge was not helpful for keeping the series on air, so the writers had to find a way for characters to simply forget what they had learned.
Step forward that handy little plot device known as amnesia. One quick dash of this and any memory of Clark's abilities quickly faded. Lex seemed to fall victim to this the most (more or less every season) and even received a memory wipe in the very last episode. Why bother?!
10 years, 218 episodes and far too much screen time involving Lana Lang. All that viewers really wanted to see was Clark putting on the famous red and blue suit, so when it came time for the big reveal what were they rewarded with?
A few crappy CGI shots and a bunch of excuses from producers as to why Tom Welling
didn't appear in the full suit. Cheers guys.
