Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Derren Brown? Derek Acorah? Oh you’d think that would be the answer, but no in truth there was only one man who really knew; the cloak wearing, gun brandishing Shadow! Dressed in a black fedora and with a crimson scarf draped across his mouth, the Shadow was tackling criminals in the pages of pulp magazines and across the airwaves of a radio show waaaaay back in the ‘30s, when criminals were a cowardly and suspicious lot! Since then he has appeared in numerous comics, including books from the three big companies (Marvel, DC and Dark Horse), as well as having appeared in serials and a film starring Alec Baldwin!
The Shadow had the power to cloud men’s minds (kind of like the power an ugly hooker has on a desperate man who needs to get laid) and with his spooky approach to crime fighting he soon became the inspiration for Batman! At The Comics Code we believe that anything even remotely connected to Batman is cooler than a frostbitten penguin and that’s why the Shadow is a genuine Pulp Idol!
