SERIOUSLY? OH. SO WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED?
When Avengers Assemble hit movie screens in 2012, uniting Earth's Mightiest Mortals, the biggest question on everyone's lips was: 'Where's Spidey?'
Unfortunately this question wasn't addressed throughout the course of the movie, however to appease fans of the wallcrawler a brief nod to the character was planned.
WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY WILL YOU PLEASE JUST SAY?!
OK, prepare yourself.
During the epic battle between the Avengers and alien invaders the Chitauri a shot of OsCorp Tower - which appeared in The Amazing Spider-man - would have featured in the scenes set in New York!!!!
And... that's it.
WHAT? A SHOT OF OSCORP TOWER? THAT'S IT?!?
Yep. Although both the Avengers and Spider-man are Marvel characters when it came to big screen adventures in 2012 it was Sony who owned the rights to make movies based on Spider-man and not Disney/Marvel Studios. So, although it would have been great for Spidey to appear in Avengers Assemble, Sony were under no contractual obligation to allow the character to appear.
