COMIC-BOOK CREDENTIALS: Eric Draven appeared in James O’Barr’s comic The Crow, published by Caliber Comics.
COMIC-BOOK WEAKNESSES: Although The Crow was an underground hit before it reached the big-time, the comics have never really taken off in the same way as say Superman or Spider-man. Eric Draven was the first character to be visited by a supernatural crow, but there were others (who appeared in shit movie sequels) and over time these have sullied his good name, making him seem a bit crap at times.
Able to come back from the dead, pretty much immortal (as long as his crow isn’t injured), looks good in black, great at face painting…so ideal for kids parties…
REASON FOR RECRUITMENT: When going into battle it’s always wise to take a supernatural warrior along with you as they are more or less guaranteed to be the last one standing. With Draven’s ability to keep on going despite being punched, shot, stabbed and kicked in the downstairs area, he’s the perfect man for the job.
POTENTIAL RISK: As Draven is dead there’s always the risk of a bit of interference from an exorcist or the Ghostbusters, which could seriously bugger things up. Oh and if his crow is killed, then it’s curtains for Draven.
CHANCES OF SURVIVAL: High. He’s already dead, so that removes that particular problem from the survival equation. He’s also a bit of a Goth and they seem to survive everything…even the end of the Goth fad!
IN EVENT OF DEATH BEFORE MISSION... LIKELIHOOD OF REPLACEMENT WITH WOLVERINE: Erm… he’s already dead. Not applicable.
