COMIC-BOOK CREDENTIALS: Tarzan appeared in comics published by Marvel, Dark Horse, DC, Malibu, Blackthorne, Charlton and Western... as well as in comic strips in newspapers.
COMIC-BOOK WEAKNESSES: Erm... well he’s always hopping from one comic publisher to the next; so that’s a weakness, right? Actually Tarzan has had quite an impressive career in comics and although he’s not remained with one publisher continually, he’s actually one of the most successful characters in comics who didn’t originate in comic-book form. Not bad for a guy who walks around in a bit of cloth.
Strong, agile, has a close relationship with animals, is the king of the swingers... a sort of jungle V.I.P.
REASON FOR RECRUITMENT: Tarzan has a number of skills that he could bring to the team, including his amazing acrobatic abilities which would prove useful in many missions. As well as this Tarzan is on friendly terms with numerous animals and so would be able to bring the whole frickin’ jungle to his aid, should he need to. He’d probably be good at a game of Jumanji as well.
POTENTIAL RISK: Tarzan is use to the law of the jungle, so when it comes to getting what he wants he probably doesn’t worry too much about people saying no. This could cause problems if he tries it on with Xena and would almost likely result in a fight!
CHANCES OF SURVIVAL: 100 percent! Tarzan grew up in the jungle after being orphaned as a baby. If he can survive that then he can survive anything.
IN EVENT OF DEATH BEFORE MISSION... LIKELIHOOD OF REPLACEMENT WITH WOLVERINE: If Tarzan died before a mission Wolverine would not be his replacement, it would be Ka-Zar, Marvel’s similar (but in no way copyright infringing) jungle-dweller.
