GOOD IDEA/BAD IDEA:
Although Power Pack comic never had the sustained popularity of say the X-Men or the Fantastic Four, it did have a fan following and tackled some hard hitting issues, including sexual abuse, homelessness and death. The same couldn’t be said for the pilot episode that was produced for NBC and was just shit. The pilot featured a bunch of super powered kids (all with different
abilities) and was aimed towards a young audience; however it was duller than an evening spent staring at the floor and failed to ignite any interest. Instead of demonstrating an awareness of the problems that children faced in their daily lives, the episode saw the Power kids square up to a haunted painting. You know, just like all kids do.
Basically it looked like a crap TV pilot, it smelt like a crap TV pilot...
...oh you get the idea...
WHAT’S THE STORY?
Somewhere in the Budget Marvel Universe the Power family (or to be correct the children of the Power family) decide to explore a haunted house, which is clearly a bad idea. However as the Power kids are as thick as freshly pooped horse crap trouble quickly follows. This trouble lasts for approximately two minutes when a ghostly figure arrives at their house to play ‘knock door run’ and then they pretty much sort it all out.
That’s all that happens.
You were expecting something more to happen?
Hmmm... I suggest you go read a book because chuff all else is going on.
