WHAT WAS GOOD?
Sequels to hit movies can often suck, however Blade II bucked the trend and was actually a great movie. The film developed the ideas that were established in the original movie and as Blade II was much more action-orientated than the first film it moved along at a breakneck speed.
The introduction of the Bloodpack, and especially Reinhardt (played by Ron Perlman) gave Blade some interesting frenemies to play off against and throw in the concept of a mutated form of vampirism - in the shape of the Reapers - and there was much to like about Blade II.
Additional highlights included:
Blade's showdown with Reinhardt; vampirism reaching new levels in the form of the deadly Reapers; chief Reaper Nomak (Luke Goss) proving to be a credible villain; and of course Wesley Snipes once again being the ultimate badass as Blade!
WHAT WAS BAD?
Erm... actually there wasn't a great deal not to like about Blade II.
OK, maybe the stupid-ass (and confusing) way in which the writer David S Goyer brought back the character of Whistler was lame... but that was it!
No, seriously, Blade II was just great!
Well, in the words of Blade - "You obviously do not know who you are f***ing with!"
Blade II was a worthy sequel to Blade and it deserved to be a big hit at the box-office. For audiences it presented 2 hours of entertainment and for Blade fans it was a movie that was just as good (if not better) than the original.
Now just try to forget that the success of Blade II led to a shit sequel and life will be much better.
